Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I choose Assembler?
There are dozens of different courses and bootcamps on the market, but we are a different kind of school. We offer 36 week intensive program with no upfront cost, meanwhile the average course lasts 12-16 weeks and has to paid for before you start. We undertake great efforts to offer you the best instructors and mentors, as well as learning tools available. We prepare Software Engineers who not only are able to code, but also to think strategically and critically.
Do I need to own a computer to attend Assembler School?
We believe that each student has their own way of working and prefers their own equipment, therefore we do not provide computers for each student. However there are a few laptops available so that you can use them in case you forget to bring yours.
Do you help students find a job after Assembler School?
At Assembler School, we help our students learn how to find a great job by interacting with the tech community frequently, learning how to communicate and connecting with our mentors. We also have partner companies where our students do the apprenticeship period and can be hired afterwords. We, and our mentors, have a great network in the tech industry.
Do I get a degree after finishing the program?
Today most tech companies do not focus on the diplomas or degrees, they look for candidates capable of performing the job and most job interviews include one or more technical tests. Therefore, we do not deliver an official degree, only a certificate (in paper and digital).
Can I attend Assembler School online?
Our program is currently only available on-site, in Barcelona Campus.
How often do I need to be onsite and what is the time commitment?
For the first 5 months we recommend our students to be onsite from Monday to Friday. Expect to have at least 2-3 mandatory onsite days a week. Assembler offers a full time program, so expect to spend 60+ hours a week working on your projects. Some days it will be mandatory to be onsite from 9am-6pm. We will constantly update our students.
Can I work and do the program at the same time?
Considering the immersive nature of this program, you want to be 100% dedicated to it. For the first 5 months you will have to set work and other responsibilities apart. After that, the next 4 months of the program you will do the half-time apprenticeship where you will work half-time at one of our partner companies.
Which level of English is required?
We offer our programs to international candidates, therefore the main language used in the classroom will be English. You need to be able to understand when someone speaks in English, and express yourself well enough so that people around you know what you mean.
Can I learn this online by myself?
Yes and no. You could possibly learn the theory by yourself, if you’re extremely systematic, although it would probably take you much longer. What we offer is great support by facilitating you peer learning and instructors, as well as mentors and experts. It’s highly important to keep up the motivation and be part of a fantastic alumni community and have access to great hiring partners.
